MultimediaSport was set up on 01 January 2009 by author and broadcaster Mark Donaldson to provide exclusive as well as syndicated content to broadcast, print and new media.
We offer a unique wide range of services: from live broadcasting to exclusive written copy, from one-to-one audio interviews to feature writing, and from voiceover work to ghost-writing books.
Mark began his journalism career in 1995 at Scot FM, before becoming Sports Editor at Radio Forth in Edinburgh two years later. After a decade in charge of sport output on the station a switch to talk107 in Edinburgh was to follow as Head of Sport and presenter of Friday Night Football. With this move also came the opportunity to work for talkSPORT in London as their Scottish sports correspondent, which included reporting on Scottish football teams in Europe and covering the 2008 UEFA Cup Final in Manchester, live on-course commentary of all four rounds of the 2007 British Open at Carnoustie plus live coverage from Paris of the 2007 Rugby World Cup q/final Scotland vs Argentina with David Campese and Will Carling.
In July 2008, Mark swapped hosting Friday Night Football on talk107 for the post of Drivetime presenter.
In 2007 he was shortlisted (one of only four) for the prestigious 'Best New Writer In Britain' award by the National Sporting Club in London for his first book 'Believe! - From Turmoil to Triumph at Tynecastle' - an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the events at Heart of Midlothian Football Club that led to the sudden departure of manager George Burley (now Scotland boss), despite the team riding high at the top of the Scottish Premier League.
Mark was also the ghost-writer for Gary Mackay's successful 2008 book 'Maroon Heart',which reached number three in The Herald's Book Chart. It was also named one of the twenty best sports books of the year by The Scotsman.
Additional freelance commissions over the last 15 years include travel-writing for The Scotsman in Zambia and Zimbabwe, official Champions League commentator for UEFA and their www.uefa.comservice, audio interviews for Sky News and Sky Sports News andmore than 100 European football commentaries featuring Scottish teams.
In addition to this, Mark has worked for numerous other media and sporting organisations travelling and covering events in places far and wide, including Bermuda (cricket), Orlando (American football), Palm Springs (tennis) plus Sarajevo, Reykjavik, Zagreb and Liechtenstein (football).
In April 2009 Mark made his co-presenting debut on talkSPORT - alongside Tony Cascarino and Jason Cundy - on the station's evening show, discussing the Barry Ferguson and Allan McGregor Scotland saga.
